At Little Leggs Corgis, we raise exceptional Pembroke Welsh Corgis in a loving and caring environment. Dedicated to following a responsible breeding program, our focus is on keeping our animals healthy and happy for when they find their new homes. All our dogs are AKC registered.

ABOUT LITTLE LEGGS CORGIS


     We are located in Canterbury, Connecticut, in Windham County. Located  in the Quiet Corner of the state. We are about 30 minutes from the Massachusetts border, and 2 hours from New York. We are lucky to experience all 4 seasons and our corgis love the winter, they could frolic for hours in the snow. We've recently moved to a small farm and our dogs are all enjoying the extra space they now have.
     Here at Little Leggs Corgis, we take pride in being a family run breeding program. It is important to us that the parents of each of our litters are not only healthy and happy, but also get to be treated and spoiled every single day just like regular, every day dogs. If you take the time to look through a few of our pictures you can see that we love every single one of our dogs and puppies with our entire heart and soul. It is a requirement that each of our pups is placed in a home with a family where they will receive that same unconditional love and attention throughout their entire lives.

PEDIGREE

The dogs that are a part of our breeding program are picked not just for their beauty, but for their structure, health, and temperament.  
The pedigrees of our dogs can be provided upon buyer request. We study bloodlines to ensure our dogs are not directly related. 
The DNA test we use also tests the Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) in our dogs. This is an accurate measurement that gives us a percentage based off of how inbred the dog being tested is.

HAPPY, HEALTHY BLOODLINE

Our dogs visit our vet routinely to ensure they are in proper health before being bred. We make the educated decision to breed our dogs after vet clearance is given. 

All of our dogs are DNA tested through Embark to screen for genetic health conditions. Embark screens for over 180 different genetic health conditions, but the main ones that we look for in corgis are:

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)

  • Von Willebrand Disease (VWD)

  • Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)

  • Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA)
